Shane in SPQ
Shane wins the CFI Award, 2008
Shane pre-flighting VH-SPQ

Welcome to my website featuring my experiences as I learn to fly light planes at Redcliffe Aero Club in Brisbane, Australia!!
The first time I ever flew in a plane was my 13th birthday, which was Sunday 2nd December 1979. Twenty-seven years later to the day, I had my first flying lesson on my 40th birthday. My goal was to gain my Private Pilot's Licence, and with that goal met in July, 2007, I'm moving onwards and upwards to my Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL) . Keep up with me through NEW ADVENTURES Diary and watch for heaps more photo galleries!! I hope you enjoy reading my diary and viewing my photos. Thanks to those who show such interest in my site, I look forward to bringing you continuous updates. Perhaps I'll inspire you to learn to fly too!!

WOW 2010!!!! Another exciting year in store!!!

LATEST NEWS
1st Instrument Rating renewal passed 3rd Feb 2010.
TWIN TIME!!!! How exciting is THIS! I am now flying a Piper PA-31 Navajo!
Well, I have now passed 4 of the 7 ATPL exams!

My first job in Aviation!!!!
WOW, I finally have my first pilot position!! From the trip to Darwin, I found that the industry is a bit flat, and none of the operators up there are hiring.  So as chance would have it I heard that Sunshine Coast Skydivers were looking for a pilot, so I applied and got the spot flying their C206 TURBO VH-TIB!! EVEN more exciting is the fact that the owner has just purchased a Navajo to run the ops with!! See the Gallery here

So wish me luck and stay tuned, I'll update you on my travel and the experiences I have in the Northern Territory.
Read about the trip DG and I made to Brampton Island at Christmas time!!
