Peter Young, my first passenger First Passengers to Fly!!

Sunday 29 July, 2007. After passing my General Flying Progress Test (GFPT) on Friday 27 July, it was time to have a "load test" so I could handle the plane with the extra weight of passengers on board. Peter Young, pictured left, was my first passenger. Pete accompanied me and my instructor, Andrew, on 3 touch and go circuits of the field. Not so interesting for Pete! Once Andrew had signed my "load test" off, it was back to the Aero Club to drop off Andrew and pick up my wife. With Pete as my co-pilot and my wife in the back, we were off on my first flight as pilot in charge ... of passengers. Read my diary entry for that day, as I try to explain how it felt to be a pilot with passengers.

I also asked Pete to write something up my journal. "I was still a little apprehensive of being first to fly with a brand new pilot. This apprehension grew a little during the week prior to the flight, when everyone who I told about my weekend plans replied with the same responses - either, "nice knowing you," or "are you mad?". Read more about Pete's experience in my diary.
