NAVAJO HAS HARD LANDING. 18 June, 2007. I was arriving at the Aero Club for what should have been my 2nd last solo before GFPT check ride.... turning into the main street leading to the club I saw the Parachute Club Plane (Navajo) just about to touchdown. I started to pre flight SPQ, when Andrew walks past "Don't go too fast checking that out mate, I don’t think anyone's going anywhere....." and points my eyes to the other end of the runway.....The Navajo was sitting way down there with her tail in the air. WOW, both props (which also means both engines are damaged) nose wheel and its doors are damaged and the underside of the nose is flat...eeekkkk that's got to hurt the bank balance! No-one was hurt. Read about the day that the Navajo missed us by "That" much. |

| TYRE BLOWOUT. 15 July, 2007. A beautiful day at YRED and I expected to do solo precautionary search and landing exercises. The day turned out to much more exciting than that!
I was coming in for a short field landing and the right hand tyre popped. Had to get off the runway with another plane calling final approach, made it but ended facing the wrong way!! Read more about the day in my diary.
